Compost Program

Star Juice purchased a compost mixer to ensure that citrus growers registered with our organization have better fruit quality, stronger trees, more fruit, and also help them meet organic standards.

This project also helps to re-incorporate some of the matter the tree gave us in the fruit since the compost is made with materials from the same soil.

The turning of the batteries has two fundamental functions. The first is to move the material from the periphery to the center, where the decomposition process is more intense. The second objective is to loosen and sponge the material so that the air can penetrate more easily.

Mineralization Program

Star Juice has been testing trees for mineralization. With this program, Star Juice will help the trees to be stronger and prepared for diseases and frost.

Trap Program

Star Juice produced more than 80,000 traps and distributed them with its citrus growers, all in order to catch the fruit fly.

With the traps and a brochure, that was given to all our citrus growers, about the management needed for the orange that is on the floor, we can combat this pest and prevent citrus growers feel the need to fumigate their orchards with banned products.

The traps contain GF-120, Spinosad as the active ingredient. This product is listed by the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) for use in Organic Production.

Advantages

There is no danger of overdose.
It does not have expiration, since as the time passes is more assimilable.
Replaces mulch, hangover and any kind of inorganic fertilizer (mineral salts).
Improves plant health, making it more resistant to pests.
